The fact that we have been handcrafting Vintage Chesterfield Sofas and quality English living room furniture in the UK for over 55 years is core to our business. We are proud to be recognised as the UK\u2019s longest standing sofa manufacturer, producing acclaimed and exclusive upholstery designs tailored to meet the demands of today\u2019s modern lifestyles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here is a behind the scenes sneak peek into how one of our Vintage Chesterfield Sofas are made at our manufacturing showroom in Manchester\u2026..<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As all of our Chesterfield Sofas are handmade to the customers specification, we first have to receive the order from one of our many loyal customers, and in this instance the customer has ordered a 3 Seated Fabric Crompton Vintage Chesterfield Sofa<\/a> (very English!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, once the sofa has been selected and the order has come through, one of our talented apprentices gets to work on constructing the frame. We only use the finest solid wood which is screwed and glued by our on-site woodmill.<\/p>\n\n\n

Now the frame has been built, we cover it with the finest padding as your comfort is one of our top priorities. The Fabric Crompton Vintage Chesterfield<\/a> has luxuriously comfortable top cushions which add to the overall comfort of the piece.<\/p>\n\n\n

The newly padded frame and cushions are now ready to be covered in the customer\u2019s choice of our quality fabrics, velvets and wools. All of our sofas can be easily adapted and customised to suit each customer\u2019s personal specifications. In this case the customer has gone with the British Aubergine Velvet (which we think was a great choice).<\/p>\n\n\n

The fabric is hand cut, carefully applied to the frame and we apply all the finishing touches to the sofa. This sofa required some elegant stud detailing on the arms which, as always, was applied by hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, this is the finished product. Once complete, the sofa is dispatched from our manufacturing showroom and can be delivered anywhere in the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n
