How to: Make neutral décor fun

Who said neutral décor should be boring? If you’re a lover of browns, beiges, creams and greys – but want to give your living space a lease of life, why not choose fun and/or interesting pieces of décor. Now don’t get us wrong, there is a fine line between between fun and outright novelty so take a look at our mood board for inspiration on revamping your neutral themed space.

1. Distressed Dear Head Ornament

A modern twist on the old English style, hunting décor, this Deer head ornament gives a unique feature to a plain wall without being too over the top

2. Caged Ciel-Light

This atom style light is edgey and fun and gives neutral décor a fresh, new look.

3. Set Of 3 Silver Coloured Frog Princes

The key to finding the balance between stylish, and outright novelty, is quantity and quality. These lovely little frogs may add a simple touch to a windowsill or mantelpiece, whilst remaining both classy and fun.

4. Rochester Designer Fabric Sofa

This stunning sofa features hand studding around the elegantly shaped scroll arms and modern fabrics contrast with this traditional settee. It is neutral yet interesting and a will break up the rest of your décor, whilst remaining firmly in your comfort  zone (no pun intended).

5. Small Aged Wall Pocket Rack

Again, adding small and quirky, almost passive, features to your neutral décor will help to break it up and add personality and style to your space. It will also give you a practical place to store magazines and books.

6. Hanging Bulb Floor Lamp

This fashionable piece is a little out there without being too over the top. If you have a lot of soft furnishings, this piece might add a necessary ‘masculine’ touch.
